Resolved Does SpamAssassin Scan Outgoing Mail ?

9musashi

Basic Pleskian
Hello, does SA in Plesk also filtering outbound mail ? If it doesnt by default, how do I configure SA to also scan outgoing mail ? I will also appreciate any other outbound spam filtering solution other than SA (amavis ?) , if any. I think this is a very important feature in mail server now. Even Cpanel already iintegrate this feature (Outbound filtering) with SA.

I know there is MailChannels but self filtering in Plesk before relay it to MailChannels will keep your MailChannels usage low. We all know that they charge you from all emails relayed , not only legitimate emails but also spam emails. Once many of your client's PC infected with malware then it could make mailchannels cost very high.

Regards

Outbound mail cannot be filtered by SpamAssasin. There are feature requests for this on Feature Suggestions: Top (1837 ideas) – Your Ideas for Plesk (keywords "outbound spam filter"), but unfortunately with very few votes only.

I sometimes wonder why users vote for stuff that does not really enhance server security like "Server Health: Show Apache CPU Usage per domain" (which can very easily be found by a console command) while the really important everyday tasks stuff, that cannot easily be accomplished by Linux commands is not voted for. Maybe the User Voice list is already overcrowded.

That's sad. Outgoing mail scanning is an important feature these days. We do not even need powerful antispam software to scan outbound mail, free amavisd/SA will do.

I placed a new feature request here - Scan Outbound Mail For Spam With Amavisd, SpamAssassin Or Other Free AntiSpam

Please vote if you need this feature like me. :)
