  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Does the Game-Server Module come with any Plesk?

Hey, I have a quick question. I'm trying to decide whether to get plesk or cpanel. When someone mentioned that plesk has a game server feature, I became interested.

So my question is:

Does the Game-Server Module come with any version of plesk?

Thanks!!!

Come with it, yes... to a certain degree. But like drweb, it's an addon feature that costs money (unlike the gameserver feature for certain other control panels you have mentioned, that offer more game selection but don't charge for the addon... aka, it's free).
The Plesk Gameserver module supports Counterstrike and Battlefield, and costs $199 per server.

you could probably write one if you really want it :)

I've tried the game server module and it's not working at all.

I tried both version 1 and 2 and neither of them ever worked for me.

1 never installed anything at all, 2 didnt manage to get my cstrike server up (mainly because it wants to install into /home and everything I have is under /var and theres no way to change that).

I even escalated this to SW Soft and they had a look at it and in the end, the installation went fine but editing the configs / restarting the server is still a no go.

The BF2 plugin is even worse. It will download the setup file, then proceed with unpacking and when you get to configuring it spews out an error about not having permission to access a certain folder.

now normally, it would be easy to change that, but any user I tried (including superusers) seems to be wrong - chmod 777 didnt do much good either.

If you're really considering to host game servers - get another system. The one plesk has is not what you want.
