  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Domain Alias problem

alan

New Pleskian
In Plesk 12 for Windows new server running Windows 2012r2

I have several subscriptions with their respective domains i.e example.com and anotherexample.com
I have added a number of domain aliases of similar domains to example.com i.e example.co.uk

The alias example.co.uk is being redirected to the wrong domain that is hosted on the same server, it is being re-directed to anotherexample.com and not example.com

I have the domains registered with Godaddy: From within Godaddy I have pointed 2 name servers for example.co.uk to example.com name servers NS1 &NS2.example.com and added 2 host records for example.co.uk, ns1 & ns2 at the single IP address that hosts all of the domains.

any suggestions why the redirection is not working, all the boxes are ticked inc. use 301

I have had a number of problems, it seems to me that the newer plesk 12 on win 12 is more temperamental than 11 on win 2008, I don't remember so many problems

After some digging around I found the repair option in %plesk_cli% the following worked for me, "repair.exe --reconfigure-web-site -web-site-name example.com".

Prior to running the repair it was strange that if you tried to FTP to example.co.uk (the alias domain) it got redirected to example.com as expected it was just the web requests that were not being handled.

Now it works!
