DrWeb / ClamAV with Plesk?

Hello,

I just installed Plesk 8.1 for Windows and noticed DrWeb is included by default. By searching these forum it came to my understanding that DrWeb only supports 15 email accounts for free and after that i've to pay for more.

How was i supposed to know this if i didn't came across a topic about it on this forum? My suggestion to Plesk is that they somehow make this clear to people new to using Plesk and never heared about DrWeb before.

As i don't plan on paying for DrWeb i was looking for alternatives and noticed that Plesk also supported the free ClamAV antivirus. I downloaded the lasted stable release, installed it.. but Plesk does not recognise it, the radiobutton is grayed-out.

I figured that Plesk most probably only supports an old version of ClamAV, just as it does with hMailServer. How am i supposed to find out wich versions are supported?

Does anyone know wich version of ClamAV is supported by Plesk 8.1 for Windows? And could you please tell me your experience with ClamAV, if you have any?

Thanks in advance!

Clamwin 0.90 works fine with Plesk.

You can download that last at:
http://www.clamwin.com/

Just install it.

After that go to Plesk > Server > Component Manager > Refresh

ClamAV will be showed in the list. Click in Antivirus and change to ClamAV.

But, it is really true that DrWeb has limited support to only 15 email accounts?

And what about Kaspersky? Is it limited too?

Yes, unless you get a license for it.

Could not activate clamav

I have downloaded clamav for linux and installed but can't find this component manager that would allow me to use it instead of the 'standard' anti-virus.

Oh my.. :D oh well i'll give it a try

Note: If you can't get CalmWin to show up in the "Component Manager" as active .. you may need to run the Plesk Reconfigurator and correct disk permissions. - I had to run it.
