• Debian 11 has reached its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 is the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

funny how this forum wont let you use ip in a search term :)

okay what I got is a plesk server 7.5 FC, on a 1&1 server.
what I want is to have a subdomain of a domain on my server to point to my computer. my isp gives me a dynamic ip.

is there anythng that I can download and install on the server to allow for dynamic ips.

I would like to have a subdomain of one of my domains rather that having one at no-ip etc.

is there such a utility? or is there another workaround that I am missing.

thanks

Create a CNAME record in DNS (for your subdomain) to lead to your no-ip hostname. This will update the dns for the subdomain lead to no-ip, meaning if no-ip changes, the subdomain does too.

Set up your server (locally, of course) to utilize the subdomain, not the no-ip name. When the DNS delegates, users will be directed to your ip. Name-based hosting will allow them to visit your subdomain site, instead of your no-ip site, when coming from the subdomain hostname.

That should be what you were looking for...
