• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

email aliases special characters

I'm trying to setup a mail alias:

stéphanie

that is an e with acute

Plesk says invalid alias.

So is there a way to escape that character in plesk?

I've tried: st\xe9phanie which works on my old box.

Or how do I manually add this, and where?

Would it get erased by plesk if manually added?

Thanks.

can anyone even send to that address?

I don't think the / is going to be supported by the smtp rfc.

special chars

accented characters must be supported, all languages besides english use them.

It currently works the slash just is the code to explain that accented e character.

How do I get plesk to accept that, or where in qmail do I manually enter that path?

found it

So I found it, you have to add it in the database psa under the mail_aliases table.

The question I have now is if I update the table manually will it work? How does plesk interface with the qmail program using the table?

I guess I'll just try it and see... any insight?
