• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

email problems with POP and SMTP not working properly on server

I have asked aplus.net support team this question for 6 months now and they seem to (1) not know how to fix this; (2) they know this is a known issue with no known solution to fix this; or (3) they don't care.

When I set up a new domain name and email accounts on the server, my clients want to set up their emails to be able to send and receive emails from the server only, where they setup their Incoming POP server as mail.domain.com and SMTP as mail.domain.com as well. This is critical to do this as the client has several sales reps who travel with their laptops.

At my office, I personally setup my Outgoing SMTP server as outgoing.verizon.net and dont use my Plesk server to send mails. When I travel, I have to keep changing the SMTP based on where i am at and who the ISP provider is. That is a pain to do.

When I setup a test email account [email protected] in my Outlook 2003, and when I click on Test Account Settings, I get an error message when sending out the test email. The error says the server can be found, but could not receive a response from the server and to verify that the port and SSL information is correct.

Aplus.net last told me that my firewall in my office was blocking Port 25 and that is the problem. I know this is not true because all my clients get the same problems nationwide. I set my firewalls and my ZoneAlarm antivirus to allow port 25, and still get test email failures. I have lost 2 clients now and will lose another NEW client i just broght on board.

Please help.

You can email me at [email protected]

It is most likely not your own firwall that is blocking port 25 but your ISP which is blocking port 25. We normally have an alternate port to send email over which is port 587, but your hosts would need to set this up first before you could use it. Basically, many ISP's are now blocking port 25 in a lame attempt to curve spamming.

That still does not provide a solution to this problem.

My customers want to send AND receive emails from the Plesk server. They do not want to send emails and set their Outgoing SMTP server to thier local ISP provider, they travel all week long and want to send and receive from the Plesk server.

The Plesk server allows you to setup emails this way, as it is a feature included with the software. However, it does not work and Aplus.Net does not know how to fix the problem, or they know the problem exists, just that their is no fix to this problem.

So does anyone know how to fix this???

What are the correct settings using Outlook Express 2003????

Is their a solution to this fix???
