EMERGENCY DNS help required.

Using a Virtual Dedicated Server. I just need to point the MX records to a IP address.

Sounds simple but I have been reading for days to find out how to do it before I transfer the account over.

The my old Host (hostcentric) killed my working site and now our hospital has no email.

I have used putty once. Very newbee.

You are trying to use another mail server? Or you just want you VPS mail to function. What does you dns template look like?

The hosting for the website is local but the mail MX records are to go to IP address new.ip.add.ress to handle the mail.

00.000.000.00 / 24 PTR domain.org.

I guess I guessed right because there mail is working again. I set a new A record to the new IP address and a new MX to the A record.
