Enabled outgoing mail control, now getting an odd message

Some people are apparently unable to send mail now that I enabled the outgoing mail counter..
I see this in the maillog:

Yes, that is correct and it's always (even for security reasons) recommended to disable the short email user names and instead only use the full / long email usernames.
