Enabling spdy on nginx

How do I go about installing the spdy module for nginx? I understand it's now part of nginx 1.6 which comes with Plesk 12 but when I add the directive

listen 443 ssl spdy;

I get an error saying "nginx: [emerg] the "spdy" parameter requires ngxhttpspdy_module".

If the SPDY module wasn’t compiled in, there is no possibility to activate it. Are you sure that nginx from Plesk has this module compiled in?

No, I don't think that this module is compiled in, it's included with nginx 1.6 but not with the Plesk version, I've seen this http://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions/suggestions/5129638-spdy-support-in-nginx, but was wondering if there was some way of enabling it, maybe recompiling, or would that be risky and possibly break future updates?
