• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

New Pleskian
Hello all. I am running Plesk for Linux, version 9.5.2 for Linux on a CentOS 5.5 server. It was running fine until a few days ago that it doesn't work anymore. If you try to connect to the Plesk web interface, you get an error message:
This file is part of Plesk distribution. It cannot be run outside of Plesk environment.
I have seen some posts with this error message, but they are not clear about exactly what to do. Also, the error message doesn't specify what file is causing the problem. I have seen that this can be caused by a failed update, but we didn't do anything. Unless it has been some kind of automatic upgrade, we did not do any upgrade manually.
Can somebody help me with this?
Regards.

Hi Igor. Thanks for your help. I already restarted the Plesk service and also restarted the server and none of these restarts fixed the problem.
As for troubleshooting, I looked at the logs and I have only found this error message in /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log :

2013-04-09 15:18:34: (connections.c.299) SSL: 1 error:1407609C:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:http request

This error appears often. It is always the same message but the error number changes. I don't know if this is related though. SSL is working fine, as I get to connect to the web page, the only thing is that when you get to the web page, you get the error message that I stated before.

I opened a support case with paid support. They connected to my network server and solved it themselves. They said some packages were corrupted and they had to reinstall them, but I don't know which ones.
