• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Exclude Folders from Serverwide Backup

Fabhino22Elz

Basic Pleskian
hello there,

i am running server wide sceduled backups in plesk interface.

i have several subscriptions running on that server.

now i want to exclude several folders from several subscriptions. some folders are completly different in names and some include same phrases like "local" in the folder name e.q. "local.test.folder"

to exclude for example:
/var/www/vhosts/domain1.com/foldername
/var/www/vhosts/domain2.com/local.test.folder
/var/www/vhosts/domain3.com/foldername
/var/www/vhosts/domain3.com/local.test.folder

how can i exclude such specific folders from serverwide backup?

You can create cron task for pleskbackup utility. This utility has some exclude options which may be useful for you:

Code:
# plesk bin pleskbackup --help | grep exclude
Use Exclude options to exclude some resellers/clients/domains.
  --exclude-reseller=<obj1>,<obj2>,...
  --exclude-reseller-file=<file>
  --exclude-client=<obj1>,<obj2>,...
  --exclude-client-file=<file>
  --exclude-domain=<obj1>,<obj2>,...
  --exclude-domain-file=<file>
  --exclude-pattern=<obj1>,<obj2>,...
You can only exclude files within webspaces.
  --exclude-pattern-file=<file>
You can only exclude files within webspaces.
  --exclude-logs
