  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Failed to retrieve directory listing

New Pleskian
Hi,

Initially I was able to connect via FTP. Then all of a sudden I started getting 550 SSL/TLS required on the control channel. Why did it suddenly required SSL/TLS when I did not do anything extra?

Now when I'm trying to connect via FTPES using FileZilla (tried both active and passive) on Linux Mint Debian, I'm getting the error below. I'm really stumped. I have tried to Allow incoming from all on port 49152-65534/tcp via Plesk firewall, but still no go.

The worst thing now is, I can't even get FTP to work anymore. Of course I would prefer to have TLS working. Any ideas?

I figured it out.

In /etc/proftpd.conf I added the following line:

# Use the IANA registered ephemeral port range
PassivePorts start-port end-port

Example:
# Use the IANA registered ephemeral port range
PassivePorts 20000 25000

Then in Plesk Firwall I created a custom rule with the above port range.

In FileZilla I used Passive mode.
