• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Failure to add subscription + Plesk failing to load

Pwoy

New Pleskian
Hi,

I am not sure what happened, as I am unable to add subscription in my Plesk now. This is the error message:
Error: hosting update is failed: f2bmng failed: ERROR:f2bmng:Command '['/bin/rpm', '-qf', '--queryformat', '%{NAME}\\n', '/etc/fail2ban/jail.conf', '/etc/fail2ban/jail.d/plesk.conf', '/etc/fail2ban/jail.local']' returned non-zero exit status 3

My server:
Php: V5.4.35
Server OS: Linux 2.6.32-042stab092.2

Do you have Plesk 12? Fail2ban is feature of Plesk 12 version.
It looks like there is incorrect/incomplete installation of Fail2ban packages.
If you have Plesk 12 version - reinstall the fail2ban packages using autoinstaller.

Hi, yes sorry. I have Plesk 12.0.18.

The failing to add subscription problem seems to be gone somehow - I don't get any more error messages.

I went to the etc folder and only found: fail2ban.previous, fail2ban.old

I went to Plesk > Tools & Settings > Security > IP Address Banning (Fail2Ban) and there is an error message saying: "Internal error: f2bmng failed: ERROR:f2bmng:No section: 'Definition'"

1. I tried installing via SSH using: sudo yum install fail2ban
This is the output:
Failed to set locale, defaulting to C

2. Then I tried: yum --enablerepo=epel install fail2ban jwhois

Updated:
fail2ban.noarch 0:0.8.14-1.el6

Complete!
4. I then followed some of the steps in here because for others, I found that they already exist or have been done with the previous installation.

5. A problem then arises here. I did: service fail2ban restart
Stopping fail2ban: ERROR Unable to contact server. Is it running?
[FAILED]
Starting fail2ban: ERROR No file(s) found for glob /var/log/proftpd/proftpd.log
ERROR Failed during configuration: Have not found any log file for proftpd-iptables jail
[FAILED]

Please advise how I should go on for now, to complete my fail2ban re-installation? Thank you!

You should remove it first with:

# rpm -e fail2ban plesk-fail2ban-configurator

and then install it back with Plesk autoinstaller.
