Of all the PHP versions and loading choices (FastCGI, Module, etc) which configuration is best for loading a wordpress site fastest, in terms of server response, code running, etc. All aspects. ?

How do I make nginx default to index.php when I go to www.sitename.com/wp-admin/ that throws a "too many redirects" error unless I add /index.php at the end.
