Feature Request: Resizing image size after uploading the image to server

JussiK

New Pleskian
I noticed that WPB doesn't resize images on server. This takes a lot of bandwidth, when publishing the site and when visitors visit the site. It also therefor can make the site heavy for visitors and publishing slow. An average user usually won't resize the images on their computer before uploading: they change the aspects on WPB, but this doesn't affect to the actual image size on server. So it would be nice if WPB could resize the image size after uploading them to save quota, bandwidth and to make site work faster.

Could you please clarify how WPB should determine the extent to resize? Please describe the desired algorithm?

Yes, the link stated it was scheduled to go into version 11.1, however we're at 11.5 and still don't have the ability to resize an image on the server prior to publishing. We really need an easy way for users that upload full size 2.5M or larger images down to reasonable sizes for internet traffic.

Is there a plan to get this feature in there at some point?
