File Quota limit

Is it possible, to limit in proftpd
or in the file system for a spesific
directory and all subfolder inside it.

main_dir/
- sub_dir1/ Limit: 2 files.
-- sub_sub_dir1/ Limit: 12 files.
- sub_dir2/ Limit: 2 Files.
-- sub_sub_dir1/ Limit: 12 files.


either:
- using .quota files or setquota
- proftpd mod_quota
- or any other solutions ?

I need to know if this is possible since.
The users which are going to use the
ftp service are non-competent, and to
make things more simple and to limit what they can and not.
