    Look at this little beauty:
How does one fix that.? It's only the one domain affected as far as I can tell.

Yes - I also have a client complaining about a very similar problem to do with file manager.

When they try to access the httpdocs folder they get the error message below:

"Unable to change directory to /httpdocs/: Invalid file name"

Does anyone know of a fix?

Under start -> programs -> sw-soft plesk, there's a thing called Plesk reconfigurator hat has an option called "repair plesk installation". We can that and it fixed it. :)

    nope, no dice...

Thanks for the suggestion -- tried that this morning but its still NOT working... got any other ideas?

    My error is:

"Unable to change directory to /httpdocs/: Invalid file name"

when a user tries to open their "httpdocs" folder in Plesk's File
    Manager interface.

    I can't find any file with this symbol ( ' )
I also renamed each file so as not to contain spaces, foreign language letters (Greek characters in my occasion) but the problem persists :(

    Any other tip?

Can we at least get someone from Plesk to post a complete list of unallowed characters? That would be the professional thing to do here.

    an alternative solution

This happened to me during the 8.6.0.1 update, and I lost control of one of our primary domains.

Checking file permissions on the directories showed that the specific FTP account and IUSR account for this domain had lost all their perms. They were literally removed from the directories they should have been applied to.

I tried the plesk reconfigurator options "repair plesk installation", "correct disk permissions" and "check component and folder perms", but none worked.

I tried manually recreating the permissions, but realized just how many places it would need to be done and that it might leave artifact errors. Sigh.

So instead, I changed the login name (via plesk/domain/setup), renamed that site to something else (old.example.com), then created the original domain as a new domain. This took a while to do, especially the migration of email accounts, but everything still existed in the old site, so using two different browsers to access Plesk via each domain helped accelerate the process a bit. When migrating the old stuff to the new stuff, it's really important to make sure you COPY it to the new folder, NOT SIMPLY DRAG & DROP. This will ensure that the existing (and CORRECT) permissions on the NEW domain are preserved.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

Please make sure that psaadm has read, read and execute and list folder content permissions for %plesk_vhosts% folder

Also you may perform "check permissions" for domain from Plesk -> domains page.

    It may be a shot.

    Thank you.
