How do i make it so if a user types in "www.sitename.com" it auto takes them to "sitename.com"

Look at Features View -> HTTP Redirect in IIS manager. You can configure this redirection there.

Can i get some more info? I see a form to fill out a url and the behavior. Do i need to do this for every website on the server?

You can install IIS URL rewrite 2.0 from iis.net and use following method, for example: http://weblogs.asp.net/owscott/archive/2009/11/27/iis-url-rewrite-rewriting-non-www-to-www.aspx
