FTP and SMTP is slow to respond

Hi,

I just installed a new plesk 9.2.1 server on a Ubuntu 8.04.
The server seems to work fine, but the FTP and SMTP is very slow to respond.

The FTP server takes 10 seconds to respond. and the SMTP takes 20 seconds to respond.
When i do a network trace a see the connection instantly on the server.

With respond i think abount the banner msg like "220 servername ESMTP" and "220 ProFTPD 1.3.1 Server"

The FTP server have the IdentLookups off and UseReverseDNS off. Also i have tried to set DelayEngine off.

What could be wrong here?

I did some tcpdump and found that both services made alot of DNS requests.
My PTR record for the IP address was broken, which caused this failure.
