FTP explorer access

Hi to all!

I want to access from the explorer a web user ftp account writing in the address direction of the web browser "ftp.mydomain.com", here I could login and manage the files from the browser.

I have tried this and I obtain an error mesagge like this:
"Windows does not have access to this folder. Confirm that you have written the file name correctly and you have permission to access the folder"

What should I have to do to run this?

Thanks in advanced!!

:)

I would check this

Confirm that you have written the file name correctly and you have permission to access the folder

It is probably a permissions error - assuming that it exists and you spelled it right :)

Thanks HostingGay,

Yes, I thought that, that is a permissions problem.

I have changed the chmod to 766 and I am obtaining the same error message.

Any idea?

Well, the folder of the webuser is called "WebuserName", which is owned by "WebuserName" group "psaserv".

What user or group I have to add or to change in this folder?

anything in your error logs?

Can you try via command line and see what the error code is?

I just tested in my server with a web user and was able to FTP to the right place using IE, command line, and FTP client - so I do know that it works in general at least.

Any solution to this?

I use to do it this way all the time until I upgraded to 8.1 ... the same thing is happening to 8.2

Can log in sweet with a ftp client (eg filezilla) but am unable to log in via IE or explorer.

WinXP error message reads:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

An error occurred openin that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.

Details: The server name or address could not be resolved

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There is nothing in the error logs in Plesk

Any idea's?

does the error message really use the word "openin" ?

The error would mean that what ever you typed into the address bar could not be resolved, its not even getting to your plesk server.
