ftp not working

Basic Pleskian
so i just set up a domain, testDomain.com. problem is that when i go to a dos command line on my desktop pc and go to ftp ftp.testdomain.com it says "Connected to testdomain.com" and then immediately after it says "Connection closed by remote host".

why would it do that?
