• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi

I´m new to plesk10 and would like to know some things.

- How do I set up ftp access via plesk to access my dedicated server?
I figured out how to setup ftp for each domain. But I would like to have access to the whole server at once.

- How do I change file permissions via plesk?
Example I have some files i need to write to but can´t and I´m not able to change file permissions via the domain ftp user I setup. So it´s propably related to the first question.

It would be nice if someone could guide me or point me to a guide on how to do this.

thats not possible with plesk. plesk is a control panel to manage your domain subscriptions. whole server access via FTP is also not very secure. if you wanna do this you have to do it manualy

why its not possible to do it with domain-ftp? it should be possible.
you can access your server with ssh and change file permissions there
