FTP won't work

When I try to make a ftp connection with my XP machine on my Linux server, the connection fails. If I try to make a ftp connection on my Windows server then I've got no problem at all.
If I do the same with my Linux machine then I can make a ftp connection on both servers.

On linux I connect with gFTP and on XP I try to do it with miFiles, WS_FTP and Filezilla but in all three cases there is no connection possible.

It get worse because after updating to Plesk 7.5.4 I can't get a ftp connection with neither machines.

Is there someone who has expiriences with those problems?
