gallery restore failed

After our upgrade to 7.5.1, customers who had the "gallery" application pack now no longer can see their images.
The graphics are all in their /albums folder but when you go to domain.com/gallery/ there are no albums to view. Anyone know of a fix?

Turn off PHP safe_mode for the directory where gallery is installed. Or you can turn it off globally in /etc/php.ini (easier, but not recommended).

I already have it turned off in /etc/php.ini

there is an albums folder containing the albumdb.dat file and the sub-folders for the actual albums.

I finally just reinstalled gallery in a new folder then used the fetch from local directory option to re-import all images from the old path.
