• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

I am new to Parallels Plesk Panel. when i am creating a ftp details it is showing the error

( Error: FTP connection failed, please check your FTP settings. )

Can you guide me how to resolve this asap.

I am using 9.3.0 Version

are you the server owner/operator, or a customer of the plesk server operator? If you are the client I would advise you to contact your provider to get the ftp server settings.

if you are the owner/operator, go to the server and try and login manually in the local ssh terminal and see what it says. Make sure you have created a user for your virtual web hosting account and setup a password for it. You can not use the admin or root account to ftp.

ftp localhost
> enter your username & pw when prompted <
-- see if an error happens, if nothing is on the screen or you want more info, you can look in /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure as a good starting point.

In Plesk 9.* you can't create an additional FTP account. You only create an FTP account during the time when setting up a hosting account or creating a domain name in the panel.

If you meant you can't login to your FTP server, then that error indicates a problem in the resolution of the domain name to the FTP server or FTP services not running on the server.
