Getting Spamassassin to Run on VZ Plesk 9.5

Hi - spent a couple of days on this and its annoying.

Spamassassin as I understood is freeware.
The VZ Software Package says it's installed, up to date and running.

BUT I have no access to it, as apparently it's not supported by the Plesk license key.

Is there another way to get at it? I know some people seem to activate it via SSH but I presume those people are not running VZ.

I have been back to my VPS host and there is absolutely no way that they know of that the license they have supplied can be updated by me to run spamassassin.

please can someone help. We are getting hundreds of spam messages a day, which is creating a nightmare for people using blackberrys, and other smartphones as these need to he stopped onthe server.
