Help needed for MySql Connection.

Require help!

I fresh installed Plesk 7.5 on a linux box (FC3) and everything seems to be working perfect except the mysql connection with PHP.

Below are the component versions in use.

os fc3
mysql 3.23.58-16.FC3.1
php 4.3.11-2.7

I tried with the following and its working perfect.

# mysql -u username -p

But when trying to connect with PHP, connection is refused.

I reinstalled Linux (FC3) and plesk all from scratch but the problem still remains.
