I was having difficulty with getting the website preview to work and a few other things that had direct links from the plesk panel, so I tried a few things to correct it and now one of my websites wont resolve correctly.
My other websites on the same server are working fine. If I ping the one website that times out, it is resolving to my internal ip and not working (the working sites resolve correctly to the external ip). I also know this because I can access the website on my internal network using the domain name, which I cant do with the working sites.
All my domain zone setups are the same between the site that doesnt work and the ones that do. I have two name servers setup - ns1 and ns2
I have tried a bunch of stuff but just cant get this to work again. Unfortunately most of the tutorials, etc have the ip blanked out so I cant see if I should be using internal or external ip.
I suspect I have something fundamentally wrong is the dns setup and have a few noob questions I am hoping that someone can help with.
The ip address displayed for my server in the Home/System Overview is my internal ip - is that correct or should it be the external ip from my isp?
My dns setup for each domain has ns servers etc using the external ip - is that correct?
I have two ip addresses set in Tools & Settings/IP Address - the external (which it wont let me delete because it says domains are using it even when I delete all entries from the domains) and the internal ip address which is bold and I assume working because the other sites still work ok.
If this setup is correct, I am thinking that maybe I have something screwed up/corrupted in the ubuntu dns files and need to ssh in and sort it but despite a day of searching, I am not sure where I should be looking.
Any help greatly appreciated - I just did an expo and gave out heaps of flyers, and since my website has been down for a day and a half now thish really made the show a complete waste of time.
