  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

hostname must resolve? - Plesk 9 installer Ubuntu8.04

I'm trying to install plesk 9 on ubuntu 8.04 but while running through the auto installer steps I hit the roadblock
"Your hostname must resolve to the correct IP address of your server"

I'm still learning as I go when it comes to linux/UNIX but if I use gnome-nettool I can use the Lookup tab to resolve the www.hostname.domain.tld to the IP and vis versa. If I omit the www the lookup fails

Do I need to include the www in the host name or should I update the DNS record so that hostname.domain and www.hostname.domain both resolve to the IP address
