How do I close or delete a Helpdesk Ticket?

I have some tickets that were created in the Helpdesk which I need to close. It appears that I am unable to delete them without sending anything back to the sender. This frequently happens with companies sending notice of scheduled maintenance, or occasionally spammers.

Can someone tell me how to close tickets without sending anything to the initiator? Thanks.
