How to allow view of dir?

I will password protect a dir. I need our clients to view the dir. Be able to see all files in the dir. and be able to right click to download the one they need.

I would love it if they could view the image as a thumbnail. I think that for my wish list.

How do I set and where do I go to set it that some dir. can be view.
