  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello,

I installed 6.5 for windows and entered a bogus hostname after install to get into the admin. I was suprised to find no way to update it. Does anyone know how I can change the hostname once it has been entered?

Thanks in advance.

You have to edit it in three places. There will be a reference to it in the misc table in the database, the dns records table, and then you have to edit it in the bind files located at \dns\ in your plesk directory.

command for changing hostname

c:\program files\swsoft\plesk\mysql\bin\mysql -u admin -p

mysql> update psa.misc set val='www.domainname.com' where param='fullhostname';

The path information and commands to login are listed in the first line and the commands for performing the action within the "misc" table are in the second line. Please note that you will still need to edit the binary file and the second table but you use the format for the second table change.
