Question How to copy content to multisite>subdomain>wildcard

mobiloclean

New Pleskian
Hello

i hope this is the correct section to ask this. I installed a wordpress multisite network and created a wildcard subdomain in plesk for it.

I got the site running now when i enter the new subdomains wordpress backend but dont understand why there is like a blank installed wordpress installation. I thought i can copy the content from my main wordpress installation from this point.

Can you give me maybe more info about that because i studied the documentation but didnt get a real answer. For our company we have a main website and for our clients we want to create subdomains in this network and want to modify their websites from this time on, not a clean installation.

I hope you can give some more infos about that.

Thanks in advance and best regards
Toni

Wordpress has some plugins available when it comes to copying content on multisite installations.

Found these two;
WP Multisite Content Copier
MultiSite Clone Duplicator

I'm not familiar with either. You may want to post your question on the Wordpress forum as you'll likely get a better answer there.

Hello @Mark Muyskens,

thank you for your quick response, so that i am not mistaken there is no "auto copy content" for the multisite installation? I thought i can just create a new website within my network and start with the content from the main site.

Best regards
Toni

Nothing built in no, unless it's a new feature. I haven't used a multisite install in a while.
