• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.

  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Resolved how to get the plesk obsidian mysql / mariadb (?) root-replacement user "admin" password?

Regular Pleskian
how to get the plesk obsidian mysql / mariadb (?) root-replacement user "admin" password?

"plesk sbin psadb --get-admin-password" does not work (How to retrieve administrator's Plesk database password on Plesk 17.8 for Windows? ) Message: `Unknown Plesk command-line utility: "psadb"`...

"cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow" / "mysql -uadmin -p'...'" makes not sense (How to connect to MySQL on a Plesk for Linux server using a MySQL admin password in plain text ), because i don't want ro change its password. (maybe it's a risk, after that plesk maybe does not work anymore..?)

Thank you for your feedbacks.

Best regards, Jan

# cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow

Looks like an encrypted string, but works as a password when used directly as delivered from the output.

Oh yes, that seems to be a password!! ;-)

Firstly, i was thinking it's a hash of it.

Now it works - thank you very much!! :)
