How to preview website in a local environment?

Ara Kara

New Pleskian
Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and am currently looking for some answers regarding plesk.
I have plesk 12.5 running with ubuntu server 14. The thing is however, the server is intended only for development purposes and so its not built in a live environment. I just need it to run on my local network.

Usually in a windows environment I would browse to something like http://localhost/websitename in the browser with xamp installed. But how does this work in a local network with plesk?
Is there a specific way to setup dns? Or hostname?
I have googled the subject but most answers I come across give solution to a live environment with actual domain names attached..

If someone can give me some hints it would make my day

Thanks a lot!
