• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question How to update Maria DB from 10.3 to 10.5

dgarcia90

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 20.04
Plesk version and microupdate number
10.0.56
Hello everyone, the server I have runs with Ubuntu 20.04 and MariaDB 10.3.

I have a moodle installation and I'd like to perform an update but it needs MariaDB 10.5 minimum.

I've checked and I don't find an "easy" way to perform this upgrade within Pleks's UI.

I also saw a few forum posts on how to upgrade from 10.3 to 10.6 and that looks like a mayor upgrade with a lot of steps but I did not find any guide of how to update from 10.3 to 10.5

Does anyone know how to perform this kind of upgrade?

Thankds in advance!

Kind regards

The steps for upgrading to MariaDB 10.5 are the same, just change the version numbers. However MariaDB 10.6 is recommended as it has longer support for (security) updates. You'll find the steps to update here:

If you are not confirmable following upgrading MariaDB via command line yourself you could ask your hosting provider if they can perform the upgrade for you. Alternatively you could ask Plesk for a quote to do the upgrade for you.
