.htaccess not created automatically in installation folder

davemoondog

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

when I use WordPress Toolkit to install a WordPress instance on a domain no .htaccess file is created in the installation folder httpdocs.

I have to create one manually every time and add the default WordPress stuff and only afterwards am I able to use caching plugins like WP-Rocket for example.

Is there a setting to have an .htaccess file getting created automatically or could it be that something with my setup is wrong. I didn't really change anything that I think is related to this but maybe I'm wrong.

cheers

wordpress creates an .htaccess automatically when the permalinks are activated.
permalinks are always deactivated in a standard wordpress installation. this also applies to installation using a toolkit.
