• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Httpsdocs / Subdomain symlinks

Hi

I currently develop e-commerce solutions, and intranet solutions that run of a framework that i have built. I would really like to see a function in plesk whereby i could create a symlink via the GUI to point the httpsdocs folder to the httpdocs folder, therefore i only have to maintain one version of the project and not two. It would also be great, if the same type of option for subdomains was available, whereby a symlink could be created to map the user back to the httpdocs folder.

This would allow more advanced developers to create .htaccess or front controller scripts that determine the subdomain requested and then redirect the user to the appropriate script, all without having to be familiar with the *nix environment.

I would also like to be able to set these settings as part of the skeleton (i.e. symlink httpdocs to httpsdocs). Also when i create a subdomain, have the option to symlink these to httpdocs/subdomain, and then let my front controller / .htaccess script do the rest.

Thanks

Joe

As of plesk 7.5.4, you can now house the domain in one directory, ie, all in the httpdocs dir....

I beleive the setting is under the domain.com, then "setup" or "hosting setup" something like that...... It is not present in any versions prior to 7.5.4 but you can, of course, go the symlink route.

That's great news for me. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll give it a try.

(I suppose it's just as easy to put a redirect on the index of subdomains than mess around with symlinks anyway)

Thanks again.

it is only for http and https, subdomains have there own directory and it is not in httpdocs
