• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

HUGE PLESK 9.0 BUG : pre9-backup-convert kills web_users

I actually have found a BIG PLESK 9.0 bug : When migrating from an existing Plesk 8 installation using the procedure from http://kb.odin.com/en/5864, the domains which have web_users get the content of EVERY web_user's directory filled with the same files from ONE single web_user in the bunch : thus all web users directories get populated with the very same files.

I have noticed this while migrating a server which had a backup file weighting 200 GB (web_users directories where full of videos). After having processed the Plesk 8.2 backup file with pre9-backup-convert (without any errors reported, conversion and import into PLESK ended fine), my /var/lib/psa/dumps/ directory receiving the converted files only weighted 25 GB !!!

This has also occured on another PLESK 9.0 web server while processing a smaller (14 Gb) backup file.

Both plesk 9.0 servers are hosted on CentOS 5.2 under virtuozzo 4
