• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Howdy,

I'm experiencing a problem since a month or so. My hostname is venus.domain.com. I've installed Plesk on September and I didn't had this problem before Plesk 9.2.3. When someone sends me an e-mail to [email protected] the mail is not received and in the maillog file there is this error:

Sorry._Although_I'm_listed_as_a_best-preference_MX_or_A_for_that_host,/it_isn't_in_my_control/locals_file,_so_I_don't_treat_it_as_local._(#5.4.6)/

My control/locals file contains the following lines:

localhost
localhost.localdomain
venus.domain.com

I'm getting crazy around this issue. I tried to execute the mchk utility and it seemed solved: it worked for some time and then it didn't again.

Please help me: I'm losing customers for this!!!

I found this answer (I answer myself... how lame is that?). The solution seems to work out for me... I hope it's not just another temporary solution as the ones in the KB.

Next time run an mchk.

Code:
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --help

Then restart qmail.

Code:
/etc/init.d/qmail restart

This will rebuild the qmail configuration files.

Also, see the following link. http://kb.odin.com/en/1372

No way! When PSA starts qmail after the daily backup the domain's emails don't work anymore. Please help me!

As I said before I've already tried that and it fixes the SMTP temporarly. I'm looking for a definitive solution...

mchk usually is a definitive solution.

Try reinstalling qmail. Then submit a support ticket to Parallels if it still fails.

This issue seems to be related with automated backup. The problem arises after the backup is done (it stops the domains before the backup and then it restores them). I'm doing some more tests...

Ok, I found the culpirt. It seems that the "suspend all domains before running the backup" (roughtly translated from italian) makes the main domain to stop working. It seems like a bug to me...

Well, at the end of the road: disabling that function makes backup tool to stop working (it fails every backup)
