I would really want <html> code support in footer section back

I noticed that after one of the recent hotfixes footer section no longer understands <html> code :(

I was using <a><a/> for linking back to my site.

I understand that there was a security problem of some sort.
As far as I know almost all sites on Internet have links in their footer section..

It would be really great if it would be possible to have this option back.
Or at least some way to link back.
