• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

IIS 7.0 error with Shared SSL or Site preview

Hi there

On IIS 7.0 site preview is not working and the Shared SSL is not working. I figured out why, here is the resolution:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942055/

Problem is with permission on web.config file for a site. But Plesk should make this permission if one uses for example Shared SSL. As it is shared SSL produces error as the shared website has no permission to "take" files from the domain that is using shread SSL.

SWSoft, please fix this!

Sorry the fix doesn't work. It is impoosible to make Shared SSL work on IIS 7.0. On IIS 6.0 same configuration it works. Please fix this ASAP.

UPDATE: This happens only if I have a different application pool for the master SSL domain than I have for the shared SSL domain. If both domains are on the same Plesk pool, folder works.
The real problem seems to be this difference between IIS 6.0 and IIS 7.0:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934515

But still if I have separate IIS it should work, so Plesk should set the right permissions.

SWSoft, please fix this error. If the domain which has shared SSL is not on the same application pool as the domain that uses it, you get internal server error. This is a permission issue as the shared SSL master domain needs to read data in the client domain https folder and there is a problem. It is documented in the Microsoft site on the list in my previous message.

Thanx Sergius. So you were able to reproduce the problem? I don't want all my domain in same application pool.
