  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

I'm DONE with plesk

It's completely unbelievable!

I had to do a re-install of my server. Was running Plesk 7.0 so i decided this would also be a good time to upgrade to 7.6.

So i did..upgrade to 7.5 and then to 7.6... everything looked fine... untill i wanted to login:

Every md5 hash in every database available was replaced with "!!". So every password was gone..

did the whole thing over...this time it wend well... but, after stll having other problems with my server i dicided to migrate to an backup server..

made my backup, copied it to the backup... and imported it with plesk restore.. guess what:

The whole named.conf from the BIND nameserver wend wrong...every domein is in it, but without any ip adress...so i decided to copy the old file from the server into the new server... that made things only worse.

I'm now completely unable to delete/change/move any domain on the new server!! i'm spending now almost 1 week on this problems without able to fix them..i only want an migrate to another server! cant be that difficult :s

Error: Unable to remove domains: Problems occured while removing domains: Unable to turn the domain OFF: domainmng failed: Execute dnsmng remove "ambitie-advies.nl" failed:.

i need that domains removed otherwise i cant restore an other backup (gives the same fault)

I would try to re-install 7.5 and restore the mysql from backup.

seriously I have enough of it as well!
I checked Helm and as far as I saw it is way much better than plesk!
Plesk is saying me you bought it from our reseller ask them.. Damn... FDC server has no support for such thing. We are trying to help each other here without Plesk's programmers.
I want to change something in IIS which plesk doesn't have any option like that.. BOOM! Plesk is gone! Server doesn't work need to format!!!
Helm is way much better.. Even tho I bought it from their reseller they are helping me! Just interface is sux!

I've never had a problem changing IIS settings behind Plesk's back. All the changes have shown up in the panel. I also prefer to use MS DNS as opposed to Bind, it gives me alot better control over replication to my backup DNS servers. The backup/restore process for Windows is worlds better than that of Linux, never had a problem. Did you ever do a Test restore beforehand?
