  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Incorrect permissions after adding Microsoft SQL 2005 Express.

Basic Pleskian
I have added Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Express edition to my Plesk installation by using Add/Remove Programs --> Plesk --> Change.

It installed correctly.

Yet, SQL Server itself cannot access the databases becase the NTFS permissions DENY access to the Network Service account, and SQL runs under that 'account'. Therefore, SQL won't start.

If I check the NTFS permissions, I see that the account that has the proper permissions is called 'SQL2005USER$HOST$DOMAIN'. That user does not exist(?)

Should I change the credentials SQL is running under, or give the network service account the proper NTFS permissions? What are the *correct* defaults?
