  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Individual Customer SSL Certificates

I'm using Plesk 10.4 on Windows 2008 R2

I have a customer that wants their own SSL Certificate. I currently have shared SSL turned on using my domain's SSL Certificate.

I have a single IP Address internal and external for this Plesk Windows server. I've read the documentation that says Plesk for Windows does not support multiple SSL Certificates using one IP Addr but Linux Plesk does support multiple SSL Certificates on one IP Addr. Actually the documentation skips over the Plesk Windows and multiple SSL Certificates and only talks about "Shared SSL certificate for a number of websites."

These IP Addresses mentioned in the Admin Guides doesn't mention if the IP Addr is internal to the domain or external, which is it? Can I have one external IP Addr that points to my named server and the named server directs the web call to a unique internal domain IP Addr? If I have to have a unique external IP Address then that address comes to the named server and points to the same server will I also have to have a unique internal IP Addr?

Second question - I know IIS and Windows will handle multiple SSL Certificates on a single server with a single IP Addr so why will Plesk Linux work like this and Plesk Windows wont?
