Install or Update Plesk issue with disable ProFTPD

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

I want disabled "ProFTPD" in /installer/select_components.html

And get this:

Disable "ProFTPD" and submit

Wrong selection

Thank you for the report, @Azurel . Indeed, it doesn't seem like there should be FTP dependency for some of the linked components. I have opened internal case for our team to further review the behavior and confirm if it's a bug.

The installer/update page only allows components to be installed or uninstalled, not disable a component.

I agree that the dependency notification on the mentioned extensions seems a bit excessive and is probably not entirely true (at least I hope). However, ProFTPD cannot be uninstalled as a component, as it closely tied and integrated into Plesk. You've ran into the same issue 12 years ago it seems: Problem with uninstall ProFTPD. Not much has changed in this regard, ProFTPD is still closely tied to Plesk.

What you could do, is to manually stop the FTP service and disable it. But it cannot be uninstalled.

Thanks. Yes, the "better" way is "chkconfig ftp_psa off" in SSH, like I said 12 year ago. haha
