  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Installing qmailanalog and other software

As a newbie I'm not 100% sure how I should be taking files from my local computer and uploading them to the server.

Atomic Turtle has been great with having sh files that I can simply install. But I'm looking to install qmailanalog and I have downloaded the tar file from D. J. Bernstein. Should I just FTP the files to the server? Is there a safe site with a sh file that is as easy as Atomic Turtle does things?

Thanks

You can use FTP, but you can also use programs such as WinSCP, which basically works very much like FTP but over an SSH link (it uses scp and runs on a Windows client, hence WinSCP).

The other thing you should concider is getting yourself a very cheap VPS, or alrenatively installing Linux and Plesk on a local machine. That way you can experiment with things, and not have to worry about the effect on clients if something goes wrong.

Faris,

Thanks for the help! I'll give it a shot and will let you know if I need VPS.

Thanks,

No probs, but I didn't really mean us for a VPS. Ours are aimed more at the performance/reliability end of the market.
