• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

IP Exclusive or Shared?

Hello,
My server has 29 IPs.
We are planning to sell reseller accounts.

1. Can anyone advice me how can I use them?
For only SSL?
Or do we have to give 2 IPs for each resellers for NameServers! Is it needed?

2. Is there a performance between Exclusive or Shared IP? Do you advice us give all our resellers 2 Exclusive IPs or Shared IPs?

Hello,

You don't need to give each of your reseller a dedicated IP's at all.
If they want to use their own name servers to be anonymous to their customers, no problem.

Here is an example that will work 100%.

If your reseller needs 2 own DNS Servers registered like this:

NS1.YOURRESELLER.COM
NS2.YOURRESELLER.COM

Let them register the above name servers with your own DNS servers IP's:

NS1.YOURDNS.COM 55.55.55.55
NS2.YOURDNS.COM 66.66.66.66

So your resellers dns will look now like this:

NS1.YOURRESELLER.COM 55.55.55.55
NS2.YOURRESELLER.COM 66.66.66.66

if another reseller needs their own DNS servers then it will look like this:

NS1.YOURSECONDRESELLER.COM 55.55.55.55
NS2.YOURSECONDRESELLER.COM 66.66.66.66

and so on...

There is NO performance differance between a Shared and Dedicated IP.

Please let me know if you need additional help with this.

Regards,
Henry
