TITLE

iPhone/Mac mail auto-configuration (QR-Code or link) leads to error 500 in web server

PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Obsidian 18.0.41
Centos 7.9

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

The automated (i)-icon mail configuration link for iPhones/Macs creates an error 500 and does not deliver any content.

We think it is a bug that was introduced with the 18.0.41 update, because we have valid 200 responses on January 20th with 18.0.41 MU #3, upgraded to 18.0.41 on January 22nd and now are seeing the 500 errors for the same requests in the same customer account/domain.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Click on the (i) icon for a mailbox, then open the iPhone/Mac option to display the QR code and link.

Then click on the link to download the JSON (XML?) file.

ACTUAL RESULT

In proxy_access_ssl_log:

91.123.123.187 - - [24/Jan/2022:09:21:51 +0100] "GET /email.mobileconfig?emailaddress=[email protected] HTTP/2.0" 500 3544 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/14.1.2 Safari/605.1.15"

No file delivered.

EXPECTED RESULT

Confirm bug

Hi,

Can anyone please confirm if this still works? I get the "Invalid profile" error again when I scan the QR code and try to download the profile.

CentOS Linux 7.9.2009 (Core)
Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.42 Update #1

I've contacted Plesk Support. It’s broken (again):

"The issue is caused by Plesk bug PPP-56793 which will be fixed in future releases of Plesk."
